Sat., February 5, 2011 – Crossgates

Playathon is a day-long Fundraiser that benefits the Empire State Youth Orchestra, Inc. ESYO is a non-profit organization that offers a program of music education and orchestral performance opportunities to talented school-age musicians from public and private schools in eastern New York and western New England. Donations received at Playathon will help provide scholarships, instrument and music purchases, concert performances, musical training, and much more.

Continuous Music! ESYO's three orchestras and eight ensembles, including two ensembles from our City Instruments Training Program, will entertain shoppers throughout the mall all day and into the evening. All together, that's over 300 young musicians!

Conduct the Orchestra! Bid for the opportunity to conduct the Empire State Youth Orchestra, the Empire State Repertory Orchestra, or the Empire State Wind Orchestra performing well-known patriotic songs.

Musical Petting Zoo! Children of all ages are welcome to touch and play all kinds of musical instruments, courtesy of John Keal Music Company.
