ESYO Chamber Orchestra is an ensemble closely associated with Symphony Orchestra and is composed of 16-18 musicians whose technical skill, musicality, and ensemble musicianship is at the highest level. The ensemble explores challenging chamber orchestra music literature from the Baroque period through today. Performing extensively on stage in local and regional venues, ESYO Chamber Orchestra musicians are challenged to become musically self-reliant and learn when to lead, when to listen, and how to be an active member of a small/medium sized group. Additionally, students learn basic conducting skills and some get invited to perform as soloists. The Chamber Orchestra was founded in 2021 by Romeo Vashishth, a violinist and student conductor who is currently a junior at Bethlehem High School, first violinist in the Tetrauq quarteT and a student in the Pre-College program at the Manhattan School of Music. ESYO Music Director and Symphony Orchestra conductor Etienne Abelin is the Artistic Advisor.
